Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

Just for security reason, you should always create a backup before upgrading. However, based on my experience, even without creating backup your database doesn’t have any problem as long as you followed the correct process of installation.

Regarding to your query, if there is a way or method on how to recover, allocate your previous database? I think if you have performed a backup recently prior to upgrading then you can restore that database.

Regards,

Arnold

Yeah, you do wanna do a backup of you database before you do the Upgrade to the Latest P6 ver P6.2.1 it’s easy..just open SQL (w/ MS SQL Sever Management Studio Express)and right click on data base with contains your projects and scroll down to TASK and select backup..saved it somewhere you can remember....If you need more help send me a PM....

Sorry am Assuming you are using MS SQL? Hope you are!

but to answer your Q? if you went from 6.0 to 6.2.1 you are still using the 2005 MSSQL Server Ver. 9.0.4035 (this is the new ver.). The MS SQL with P6 should be a little older but it should still be (MSSQL 2005. N should have all your data, since all you doing is upgrading the server. That’s what i did with mine. Unless he delete the DB, i don’t know what he did.

All you probably need to do is Re-Sync the DB alias with DB.....If you need more help send me a PM....
