Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi.
When I turn off firewall on win 2003, it connect successfully. But I can let the server turning off firewall all the times.
Which port should I open on the server.
My SQL express use port 1433 so I opened port 1433 but in vain.
Regard

Hi
This message is, when the connection to the db-server doesn’t work.
- physical: cabling, server down, ...
- wrong adress for the database: name
- wrong connection.

Try to establish a new connection with a different alias name.

Good luck!
