Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Is it possible within P3 to create an activity which uses x amount of resources to complete ?

In my industry of furniture building... 1 desk takes a fitter 15 minutes to complete. What I want to do is have an activity where P3 uses this information to calculate how much resource time is required to complete 100 desks within a set period of time.

For example, if I have to complete within 2 days using fitters who work a maximum of 8 hours a day, the answer would be 1.56 fitters, i.e. 2 per day after rounding up.

Hi Mike

Thank you for your suggestion which was so obvious I didn't see it :) I'm very comfortable with Excel spreadsheets and this approach has helped me shine a light on the way forward with this.

Hi Terry

Even though P3 is an old software I am sure it has some rudimentary resource modelling.

For your desk building operation you are better served using your spreadsheet to calculate resource levels.
