Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All

Does anyone have an idea about Users tracking log in P6.

We built an EPC schedule split in 4 different schedules. One schedule is full dedicated to procurement. This is the heart of the 4 units for which 4 different schedules comprise Engineering and construction. The 3 planners have defined links between engineering – procurement – construction.

As we update on monthly basis, we experiment all type of errors such as: deleted links or link lag.

Does P6 have an option where someone can track what a planner has been doing in the procurement schedule (the heart of the EPC multi schedules).

Thanks & Cheers,
carmen

Yes Alex you are right. Because we use MS-SQL server I forgot this option. May be in MS 2005-server this option exists as well. I didn’t check.
As for the Primavera database, a layout of the data model is delivered as a pdf - in P5 and P6.1 not in P6. Among the documentation files Primavera added a layout of each table as a html.
The trace option for each client - under the user preferences - I never checked.
Good luck Carmen!

But you need a Oracle/Primavera DB expert to assist.

In P6 you can have the full log and track down who did what and when. as long as you don’t overwrite the log file

As far as I know this is just possible per table: Who and when - update_date and update_user - but not which modification.
You can read it with SQL.
