Hello evry1,

What level of impact will it have on a plan if a suspended activity is progressed before the resume date? By level on impact, i mean, resource laoding, remaining duration, etc..

Cheers

Ifeanyi

Hi Again,

As Bijaya Said when you have your Activity Suspended and you received progress during Suspension Period it means it was not really Suspended,

You have two choices

First - put the Progress for period before Susoension
Second -Removing Old Suspend date and create new if your criteria is still valid,

Physically, if you have suspended an activity and have not resumed it yet, there cannot be any more progress.

In your example, on 8th May, if you progress the activity to 50%, P3 will assume that all that 50% has been achieved before your suspend date. Effectivity your are making back-dated correction but nothing will appear between 4th to 8th May.

Hi Hamed,

Thanks for responding. You made a good point and I thought so before asking. But if you consider this scenario;
• Activity progressed 20%, then suspended for 10 days (suspend date 04-May-07 and resume date 13-May-07)
• Activity was progressed 50% on the 08-May-07, and was updated in the plan

Then, would your response still apply? Cheers

Hello There,

If you have Suspended an activity and resume date is sometimes after , lets say it has been suspended for 10 day, on your resource loading for that 10 days you will Not have any Manhour or what ever resource , so by default on your resource forecast you dont see any resources for that activity , it is like you shut down the plant for 10 days, by logic you dont need labor , the same with your relationship all the relationship except ss will be impacted( except the one with lag less than your Suspension date), you prbably could still have Cost charged to that activity,

hope it Helps,

Hamed
