Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi all,

Could anyone tell me if there is a way of exporting the information stored within the Resource Lag field?

We are currently in the process of upgrading to P3E but have found if we import a project from Suretrak all the information for resource lag is lost.

One solution I can think of is if we can get the information out of suretrak into something like Excel then we could import back in to P3E and cure the problem.

Unfortunately I do not know how to export the information. Can anyone help???

You need to organize your project by predecessor or successor and you may display the predecessor or successors, the relationship type and the lag in columns, then cut and paste to Excel.

Any data that may be displayed in columns may be cut and pasted to Excel. SureTrak also has a pivot table export script that now works properly with the Service Pack 3, which will export time phased data, all be it slowly.

You may also run a Predecessor and Successor softbridge script which will give you all relationship detail in a text file that may be manipulated with Data, Text to columns in Excel.

It is also possible to assign the same resource multiple times to an activity in SureTrak with its own lag and duration. To do this in P3 each resource assignment needs to be unique by assigning a different a Resource Curve or Cost account.

Hi Matt

Afraid your on a no brainer, the reason Suretrak is so cheap is that you cannot do any exports into Excel, and the thing about p3e v5 you can assign the same resource to a task as many times as you wish with its own planned start and finish dates to do more accurate resource planning,
