I wish to know how you deal when project is underway and you have to record the progress when new items or new job have been added to your original contract. For example, lets take the following example:

Act. 2 250 25% 60% 150
Act. 3 200 20% 15% 30
Act. 4 180 18% 0% 0
Act. 5 220 22% 0% 0

Total 1000 100% 33% 330
Now, management or customer instructs you to add one more activity. Note that the Estimated Mhrs will increase, the distribution weights will change per each activity, and therefore the overall progress (based on resource) will also change (lower).

Is this right? You had 33% of overall progress before the new activity came up; now you have 30% with the new calculations. Please, let me know if Im doing something wrong or if this ok or what approach you use. I will welcome your comments and opinions on this issue.
