Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Just a reminding note.
Any client machine install this MPP to MPX conversion utility must have Project installed.

Since MSP helpfully decided not to allow you to ’save as’ MPX, you can either open your Project file in MSP’98 (assuming you still have a spare copy) and then save it as MPX, or,
P3 have written their own routine which is freely available on the knowledgebase, extract given below:

The following is a Primavera Knowledgebase solution:
Solution ID: 200316155826

Goal How to use the MPP to MPX Utility.

Fix Primavera provides a utility to convert Microsoft Project MPP files to MPX files. MPX files can be converted to P3 files. MPP files can not be directly converted to P3 format. To use the utility, Microsoft Project must be installed on the computer.

NOTE: P3 does not need to be installed to run this utility.

Well Haslan :

Often I need to switch between P3 and MS project. I was facing the same trouble using MS project 2002 becuase it doesn’t have this option!!. Then parallel to this I started using MS project 98 which has this conversion option. How come the latest version is not having this facitltiy I don’t know even !! Friends let’s discuss this now . . .
