Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Its been a while since my last confession:

Can someone explain while Global Activity Codes are not importing with the XER file?

the issue:

Standalone Database in P6 16.2.5 - added new Global codes to the database, updated a schedule with said global activity code then exported file so the Project Manager could manage on his own database.  When PM imported the XER he did not get the asigned codes against the activities.

Is there a way when importing to move the activity coding into the Global import sction where you can keep/update the data?

I look forward to the replies.

Festive Greetings

Will

1 MAKE SURE THAT you have the proper rights to import global codes

2. during the importing process when you get to the Update Import Options select modify

and then under data type project make ssure that the box next to activity codes and activity code value that it says insert new for both
