Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Ronald,

Even when you assign a baseline and export it to .XER file, when you import and then open , you could see that baseline column shows the dates of early start and early finish and not the actual baseline dates, which implies that the baseline is not getting exported into the .XER file.

So when you make a schedule update and preserve it in .XER file, the baseline doesn't follow that file.So you have to save the original baseline and re assign it to the schedule update each time you update the schedule.

Please let me know if there is a better option

Best Regards,

San

You are right SM, baseline doesn't get exported.

Thanks

San,

You always have baseline dates, even when no baseline is assigned.  When no baseline is assigned, your current Planned Dates are displayed as the baseline dates.  This is probably why you think that they have ‘changed.’  The baseline dates did not change, the baseline probably did not transfer or it is no longer assigned.  Good luck!

When you export .XER file then Baseline is not exported. You hace to Restore it.
