Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

AACEI article Cost Engineering Vol 46 No 4 April 2004: Impact of Overtime on Construction Labor Productivity

is a good place to start if you can find a copy.

Hi,

thanks for sharing a good inofrmation.

Hmmmnn "working in longer shifts reduces the overall productivity" by a factor of 0.1?...that's interesting...

I think there's a whole "project" to consider to before I could come up with the 0.1 factor..or whether longer shifts "really" reduces or increases productivity..... ;-)

regards,

the Rock

Jiahd:

Reference paper is available on AACEI's website - "Predecting Productivity" by James M Neil and Lee E Knack.

As per the author, working in longer shifts reduces the overall productivity. An adjustment factor of 0.1 is required if working on 7 days / 8 Hours or 6 days / 9 hours or 5 days / 10 hours.

I hope this could help you.

Best Regards
