Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Can any 1 tell me if costing is really possible using P3

he company i work in doesnot have a proper cost monitoring system and they say it is not posible to the required precisiion in P3

i happened to discuss more on this from people with more experience but they ll gave the same answer.

Some1 happened to say they used excel to do this but he worked in India on road works, where although the works were of high valu the projct duration was very big as suh they used costing in MS Excel where as the company where i work right now has a lot of projects and i cannot picture how they can account all this using P3

If any1 can flash some light please be very elaborate

Yes it is not only possible, P3 has all the utilities for costing (estimating up to monitoring)), used it many times in my projects in fact. The numbers may not be as accurate as accounting figures but for purposes of control and immediate feedback to management it is very effective.

To elaborate it here would be very lengthy, sorry.
