Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Good morning all,

I am after some very specific piling output rates (in hrs per pile per rig), and was wondering whether anyone has data on the following:

- Type of pile: contiguous bored piling
- Dimensions: 1000mm Dia x 15.0m Length
- Methodology: rotary bored pile in cohesive soil (no stell casing)

I couldn’t quite find this info on the production rates available on the web site.

Any clue or historical data close to the above specs would help! Many thanks.

Hervé

1 pile(800 dia, 40m )/24 hr in very poor soil ,mud protected ( fill mud in the hole to protect it from collapse)

Thanks Bill for the insight information. I also spent a few years in the Guinean Golf and what’s for sure is that down times of 30 % are not unusual there!

I am awaiting soil investigations to refine estimate outputs.

Dear Herve

Many varables here.
type of soil,etc.etc.
availability of equipment. spares, back up rig.

Drilled 470 15lmpiles in Nigeria a few years back, and avg
3 15lm piles a day. however over a week, productivity dropped due to the 30% down time for equipment.Concrete piles are based on estruding pumped concrete and a specific pressure must be maintained when injection of concrete otherwise one must abandon hole and redo due to voids left in the pile.
therefore, need a spare drilling rig on standby and spare concrete pump on standby to maintain 3pd per week.

This will not help you much but it was a fact I had to live with on the project.
cheers bill
