Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello All,

I am trying to import a microsoft project file to Primavera P6 version 7.0.

I have done this in the following order:

1. open project file using asta and then save as an xer file (it opens fine is Asta with all logic and WBS correct)

2. import to P6 in the normal imort method for an xer file however the import loses some links and activities are no longer in their correct WBS. All the activities, links and WBS are present but the activities are no longer in the correct WBS, all are under one new WBS that the import seems to have created

How can I import to P6 without this happening?

thanks in advance

short answer is NEVER the conversions is never 100% There are many differences between the 2 programs let along introducing a 3 program asta.

Why noty import the microsoft project file into P6 why involve another software to interpurt it  ?
