Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Assignment Dialogs will not appear in Primavera P6 Professional
I recently encountered the strangest situation with Primavera P6 professional. When I clicked on the assignment button for resources, predecessors, or successors, the dialogs were failing to appear on screen. Here's what's going on Assignment Dialogs MIA in Primavera P6 Professional http://ow.ly/aIH630ar0oF

More information - specifically, P6 stores the geographical information etc. in the database, under the user preferences associated with each P6 login.

Rather than users having to change their display back to their original setting, a quicker and more user friendly solution would be to just reset the user preferences in the database - this wouldn't really affect your data, but would just start you off with P6's default view. Any layouts or filters you saved would still exist.

This fix takes less than five seconds to implement via Rubix's 'user preferences reset' option which you can find under its utilities.

Screenshots are below, and more information and a trial version of Rubix are available at http://www.consultaegis.com/software/rubix/

In addition, I've seen this error pop up even without the windows screen resolutions being changed. Sometimes P6's user preferences just get corrupted occasionally.
