Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear All,

Recently every when I want to log in P6 it asks me to configure database! I didn't have this problem before. would you please advise?

Also it take a long time (around 3 minutes) for P6 to come up , also it didn't have this issue before.

Would you please advise on what could be the problem?

Thank you in anticipation.

Regards.

Alan

Hi Alan

What does happen if you'll reestablish the link? I remember that in an earlier version there was some trouble with the file where the configuration information is kept. The number of configurations was restricted.

Good luck!

Dieter

Hi Dieter,

Thanks for the message. I thought it might be an installation problem myself so I unintall and re-install it, but still had the same problem. What interests me that P6 has been on my computer for a few months and these problems starts a couple of days ago.

Thanks you,

Alan

Hi Alan

There is something wrong with the installation. Backup your database and install once more. There is file with all your db accesses/configurations. Let IT check why P6 cannot read this information during start-up.

Second possible reason: A conflict with an antivirus software.

In both cases your IT should be able to solve this issue.

Good luck!

Dieter
