Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Help
this may sound simple but...

My logic between two tasks is finish to start

1 day duration - 12 oct 09 - 13 oct 09
10 day duration - 13 oct 09 - 23 oct 09

Why does this occur that task 1 is only a 1 day duration but shows it finishing on the next day?

Im sure its simple and i will kick meself!!!

Thanks Guys,

I have sorted it out
The working times were 8 till 5 but the calender was 7 till 5
The extra hour was pushing the tasks over to the next day

Thanks david & nicolas

Hi Andrew

Check that
1) duration of day
in Tools Options Calendar
is compatible with
2) dayly working time
in Tools Modify working time.

If you tell MSP
that
1) your "day" is 10 hours long
but
2) you allow only 8-12am and 2-6pm you will need
finish the next day.

Great idea

I have found the problem in the start times are all over the place, but my calender starts at 7 and finishes at 5 every day
The same calender is assigned to all tasks.
Ill keep digging

could be down to the time also, when does the working day start, etc.

expand the start and finish columns so that you see the start date and time and the finish date and time (you might need to format how the date is viewed).

how long are your days?

silly question, but if you’re calendar is 24 hours and you start something at 8am on the 12th, the finish will be 7.59am on the 13th. If your calendar is working hours/days, your duration ’should’ (theoretically) be 8 hours, so, start and finish on same date, duration = 1 day.

try putting your duration down as 8 hours.
