Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

This question is for the PP’s Admin..

Dear Sir,

Being a planner i congractulate the efforts you have put to set an entire different world of planning in this website.

I learnt very much, update to the trend by spending atleast an hour at this wesite.

I have seen job oppurtunities in our PP site, where i find almost all jobs are from UK/ENGLAND if not UAE/ARAB..y is that so??Is there no requirement in planning for rest of the world.Regarding work permit..i dont feel any individual can arrange for that, thats y we fail to avail the oppurtunity provided by PP website.

I strongly feel no use of the provisions provided if we cannot avail the oppurtunity.

I would request to please answer my question at the earliest!!Many more to discuss..

Regards,

VENKAT RAMANA

Hi jerry,

I’m still in UAE. I’m going to project manager positioin. Planning, for me, will become a tool to achieve project goals.

I will take all the advice.

PP Admin, Please moderate (delete) my previous post.

I would prefer to focus on PP Admin question and to behave like a good boy here in PP world. I hope my new position will enriched PP a new look regarding project management in general and planning in particular.

To my peers in PP, please forgive my previous way of sharing ideas.

Cheers,

Charlie

Hello People, can we just be professional, writing those foul words is not good in this website. PP is suppose to be Sharing, giving good thoughts and ideas about Planning, right?

Cheers!!!

Hi All,

On the subject of why most of the adverts are for jobs in the United Kingdom is simply that recruitment is (we understand) big business in the UK and as such, there are some major players who actively recruit - and hence take advantage of PP’s diverse and rich membership.

We tend to think that Andrew is quite correct. The way to get more diverse and worldwide jobs on PP is for us all to tell the companies and recruiters in our respective countries about PP. By doing this, we will all benefit in knowing about, and finding that next job.

We are also thinking about a way for us planners to fill the vacancies which arise in our respective companies. Perhaps we should, or could, challenge our bosses in that we can find the most suitable planners to work alongside us rather than having to use a head hunter or recruiter. This could be the beginning of a new Global Recruiter!!!!

Something to think about!!!

Keep on planning...

Guys are we missing the point of the original posting?
Why no worldwide job posts?
I believe the answer is that a lot of UK revruitment companies are using PP, most of the "rest of the world" vacanies are also posted by UK compaines or overseas offices of UK companies.
If you want more world wide vacancies posted then inform your local recruitment compies about PP.

David,

I totally agree with you; Charlie’s remarks were offensive, ill-informed and unnecessary. However, I don’t believe that there is any point in attempting to get him to acknowledge his error as I don’t believe he thinks has made one.

From what I have seen Charlie believes Charlie is always right and his justification of his position ranges from the mildly eccentric to the downright bizarre. If you attempt to press him too closely, though, he will sidetrack the discussion with irrelevances or childish obstinancy.

Probably the best thing to do would be to waste no further time on this matter. After all, the people in Planning Planet are quite capable of recognising ignorance and intolerance when they see it. I’m also sure they are quite capable of deciding for themselves how much notice to take of someone with such opinions.

Drawing lines or burying heads is no real solution to the ignorant and offensive remarks that Charlie specialises in. I’d be happier if he acknowledges how odious some of the things he churns out are.

Don’t need to go in further detail. This issue should be closed now rather than to discuss more as it relates to PM not a part of forum discussion. In short UK and all other countries have qual opportunities for all, subject to prove yourself.

I take extreme offence at your posting, which yet again is borne from your ignorance.

The UK is the most racially diverse and multicultural place in the world and London is even more so. We have laws that prevent us from discrimination on race, gender sexual orientation and religious grounds. Hey, if we are so bad why the heck would you want to come and work here (as you have said in other posts).

Before you cast aspersions Charlie I suggest you take a good long look in the mirror and, as has been suggested before, put your brain in action before you speak. Maybe the apparent chips on your shoulders and your own discriminatory views are colouring your judgement.
