Major Responsibilities as Sr. Planning Engineer
- Lead and support the Project Planner, Review and comments their performance towards achieving Project & Company objectives
- Monitoring the Project Performances from the Project Team and report the status to Top Management with remedial action plans.
- Review, Comment and Ensure Project Controls related procedures/documents are in line with Company standards and contractual obligation.
- Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Controlling Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning activities with respect to Plan, Progress and Resources using latest planning tools like Primavera Project Planner (P6)
- Producing & updating comprehensive project planning package.
- Perform critical path analysis of the project and analyze various scenarios arising due to late arrival of equipment and delay in engineering and construction etc.
- Establish and maintain activity level integration between Primavera P6 and project control database
- Advanced planning software & operating techniques were used mainly Primavera supported by in-house systems to produce all levels of planning and the required tools (Schedule bar-chart, progress report, histogram, S-curves, look ahead schedules, activity behind schedule, production control tools, etc).
- Demonstration of project controls capability in the areas of cost control and scheduling to clients (business development)
- Liaison with multi discipline engineers for work scope development.
- Maintaining and updating network to revised or evolving scope.
- Review, evaluation of progress on weekly basis identifying critical problem areas and indicating remedial measures for corrective actions.
- Preparing, regular updating & distribution of Progress Reports (Monthly, Weekly, Daily and S- Curve, histograms) etc to Client / Internal.
- Deliver project budget & monthly cost control reports by segment and by cost centers (Material, Engineering, operation, Sub-Contracts, etc.) by using SAP
- Analyze and monitor project performance against baseline, identify variances and initiate early warnings for slippage
- Identification and propose implementation of risk control measures including contingency plans to manage out or minimize network risks.
- Perform Project & Divisional level Planning & Cost Controlling Activities like Business Plan Preparation, Project Budget Preparation, Cash Flow Curves, Work load position, Corporate level resource rolling plans, etc.,
- Review & finalize monthly VOWD/Projection statements Vs Actual/Forecast Costs. Review & analyze the Estimated Cost for new and balance works
- Perform Earned Value Analysis; detailed project forecast cost and major concerns.
