I am the senior planner/project controller with John Paul Construction an Irish based construction company with an annual turnover in the region of €350 million. I originally qualified with a degree in Civil/Structural engineering but have worked as a planner for over 6 years both in Ireland and the Middle East (Dubai). I have experience in both tender and contract planning and as senior planner I am involved in all of John Pauls projects including current tenders for projects in the UK and the Middle East.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsibility for the planning and co-ordination of all JPC projects, across a 
broad spectrum of industries
• Developing and understanding complex schedules through critical path analysis
• Resource loading and management
• Liaison with sub-contractors to ensure integration of schedules into the master schedule, including co-ordinated preparation of testing and commissioning schedules with mechanical and electrical subcontractors
• Baseline management – Planned Versus Actual
• Preparation of procurement schedules and information required schedules
• S Curve and Earned Value Analysis
• Report writing including progress reports and method statements
• Preparation of site logistics and traffic management plans
• Developing and identifying resource requirements for staff prelims including management, major plant items and scaffolding.
• Analysis of projects schedule, providing insights and understanding of current status and  recommendations on any corrective actions required
• Planning software used: Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject & Microsoft Project.
