Scope of work:

Assisted TPT and TPL in the execution of a portfolio of on average 150 new individual capex projects each financial year, aligned with their adopted Project Life Cycle (PLP) Process and for the continuous review and progress reporting on all of TPT’s Capex Projects located at the 16 port terminals in South-Africa; I was responsible for preparing and presenting monthly progress reports to Regional Steering Committees and to the GM Capex for presentation to TPT Exco.

TPT’s Capital Investment Programme consisted of approx. US$ 6.9 billion spent over a 10-year period and resulted in TPT achieving a peak annual capex spend of USD 300 million in 2011. These projects represented a wide range of disciplines, from infrastructure type projects to the manufacture and supply of heavy shiploader / unloader equipment required for the import / export of containers and other commodities at the 16 port terminals in South-Africa.

KPI’s: Accurate strategic monitoring and a quick turnaround on TPT’s beneficiation / business strategies with no deviation from assigned targets for Capex Spend as set by Transnet Corporate Group on TPT’s and TPL’s Capital Investment Programme including time management, cost and documentation control management.

Achievements:My team was managed in an efficient manner that has allowed us to continuously achieve our Capex set targets on spending and achieving critical milestones.
