The Phase 1 is the concessionary section of the A1 Motorway, approximately 90 km in length. This part is the most northern section of the A1 Motorway which starts in Rusocin near Pruszcz Gdański, south of Gdańsk and ends in Nowe Marzy near Grudziądz.

On Polish territory A1 runs from Gdańsk, through Grudziądz, Toruń, Łódź, Częstochowa and Katowice down south to Gorzyczki where passes on the State border.
