I've used ASTA with TILOS and have transferred data into TILOS to make very useful Time chainage diagrams. Now I must work with P6 on a project and I'm finding it very frustrating. The project I am working on is a road project where I need to make two diagrams, one which shows a tunnel in detail which is easy enough. The other is for the road and this is much harder. I want to pick up the Bridges and Tunnels at the summary level, but P6 passes TILOS no data at group levels and so I would need to make hammocks in my programme every time I wish to do this. I don't want to introduce more stuff into the programme which is complex enough as it is so I want to avoid that.
Also, because P6 passes TILOS no data at group level I cannot see the structure of the programme in the TILOS Gantt view. This makes finding anything (for editing templates etc.) very laborious. The only solution I've come up with so far is to export from P6 to Asta then from Asta to Tilos. This solves the above problems but means that every month I will need to reestablish templates to the tasks as each Asta programme will be new and not associated with the last import to TILOS... Any suggestions out there? The obvious one would be to convert the programme to Asta which would make my life easier all round but is not the way my company want to go... Any other suggestions of how to work with P6?
thanks!
