Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi

I would like to ask if any one has had any experience in working in Saudi Arabia Ad Damman.

What would be the expected package for a planner? Salary, flights, accomodation, health, etc?

Any pros or cons in working out there?

Many thanks for your advice

Andrew

Andrew,

Salary should include:
$________- Your Planned Net Income
$7,500-9,000/year - 3 bedroom furnished apartment
Airfares - by company
Medical - by company
Food prices - average

Pros: Still conservative place, good beach
Cons: less entertainment - you have to drive to aramco village or bahrain

Dear Andrew,

Most westerners living in the Eastern province like to live in Bahrain and commute daily to their work. Bahrain is more open.

The package depends on the company and the project budget. They have it down to a science. They will give weight to everything that you can offer, and provide you with a package. As an individual, you will not have much expense because there aren’t too many places that you can spend you money on. If you choose to live in Bahrain it is a different story.

One very important question is the school or your kids, insurance, and living inside a compound if you select to live close to your work. If your package includes all the above, you will be able to save.

If you have any specific question, please let us know.

Good luck,

Samer
