Hello Everybody,

We are doing a Commercial Project comprises (B+G+2Typ+LHR) having Structural Steel Building with Deck Slab Concreting

Our payment conditions are released based on milestones for seperate floors, and each mile stone will be upon the completion of Structural steel (Vertical & Horizantal members), RCC Completion ( Column Encasing & Deck Slab Concreting)

So, I have prepared 2 different options:

1. Completion of all structural steel works and starting of RCC Works, but we cannot claim for 3 months to achieve the Mile Stone, even after 3 months inorder to speedup the works, need to deploy the resources in every floor at one time.

2. Parallel Works, (For Each Floor RCC Works will complete after the completion of Structural Steel Works for respective floor and vertical members for next floor) and next floor will complete accordingly. In this option , I can Claim bill for every month.

But When i discussed with my management about this, intially they preferred for option-II but now the Structural Steel Works supplier wants to complete their job first without any hindrance.

So, Kindly help me in this issue, which is best pratice to achieve the Mile Stone in every month and alos at wht stage i can start the RCC Works without any hindrance to Structural Steel Supplier.

Regards,

Ashik

Hi Ashik

If the steel structure does not have to be lined and levelled before any concrete casing can be applied then:

You can use wrinkly steel formwork for the floor slabs and they can be placed as the steel goes up and can be concreted with backprops as soon as they are three floors up.

The columns can be cased as soon as the floor slab is 3 days cured.

Best regards

2nd option is good for maintaning cash flow.

hindrance can be avoided for structural work by proper zone segeration, keeping safety and quality norms in place.
