Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I am always amused when I read a post like this or see that there is a "library" of interview questions. Did you guys ever stop to think that if you do get past the interview, you will have to actually perform according to the answers you memorized?  Any good interviewer can tell when a candidate is giving "canned" answers to questions and if he/she can't, well it won't be long until you are found out and terminated.  There is no shortcut to being a planner. (Btw, if you need to have someone give you the answers to these questions, you have no business going for the interview in the first place.)

I guess that for most of these questions you may find similar answers in P6 Help via search key words

For question no. 4, progress archieved, plan for next period, issues and corrective action are normal topics for a project update meeting. Normally planner had to prepare a report for the meeting, which means you need to talk with site/design engineers/buyers, take site walkdown, read drawings, collect/validate/calculate progress statistics to write narrative, make curves to prepare a progress report for management analysis and make decision. Sometimes, planner write meeting notes for record.

For question no. 7,

- could be better if people was involved in baseline schedule setup after you finish a draft schedule, target and resposibility will be a real idea to them during the discussion. schedule update might be little easier as it's a Our schedule.

- make sure your boss be awared in time that where you are stopped... big potatoes only can listen big potatoes

- send input reminder week/couple weeks before your cut-off day and keep say hello to them in tea / rest room

- Finally, leave it blank if you cant get update from some tough guys. Put big font for TO BE UPDATED BY MR. XXX in your report. Most of time MR. XXX had to do an oral update in the meeting to project director / client and normally wont be a next time
