Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi planners,

Is there anyone who has experience in building a gas station?

The project is a green filed project, from earth works to last finishing details.

What I am looking for is tips and breakdown structure regarding the time schedule. Usually I am working with delivery of substations and do not have much experience in this field.

All help is welcome!

Regards

Dan

Hi Dan

The biggest problem with underground fuel tanks is to stop floatation caused by high ground water levels.

This is a common problem when there is a time when the tanks are in place in their pits and not yet restrained.

Best regards

Ooops,

In that field I guess I have the same experience as you/all. I fill up the car several times a month eheheh.

Now serious.

I never did a project in that field but it should not be diferent from every project sequence.

Eng. / Procurement / detail engineering / construction / mechanical, electrical, i&C erection / Commissioning and handover to client

The tanks:

1 - need to be designed according API or other applicable standard (some basic data are required: volume / enviroment temp / etc). There should be standard solutions in this specific market.

2 - Then prepare a file with the engineering and comercial data and contact possible suppliers. Place PO and have the inputs from tanks supplier (inputs to civil, mechanical, electrical and I&C.

3 - Give inputs to detail design which will have to come up with detailed engineering in all disciplines involved.

4 - Give detail design to construction / erection company.

Construction it self:

A - Normaly starts with survey / excavation

B - Build whatever defined in civil detail eng.

C - Erect tanks

D - Erect other mech. / elect. / I&C systems and complete civil.

E - Run necessary testing.

F - I guess some certification is required from relevant entities along process

G - At the end milestone ready for first fuel

OTHER OPTION:

Since these projects are very specific and it should exist in the market specialized companyes you can allways make provisional enquiries and ask the proposals to include Time Schedules. The you can use them to develop and integrate your overall project.

As I said I do not have experience in this type of project but nevertheless here you have my thoughts

I Hope it helps you

Hi jose,

Of course I will give you more details. I was in a hurry yesterday and just want to throw out the question on the forum.

With “Gas Station” I mean the type of Gas Station were you fuel up your car.

The project contains a building/shop (1000 m3), 18 pump stations and 2 automatic carwash. As I mention my experience in this field is minimum. The biggest problem for me is how I plan the large tanks that will go in the ground.

Do have experience in this field?

Regards

Can you be more specific?

Gas station to stock in caverns (or other mean) and later on to give it back to the gas network ?

I have experience in this type of Gas Station
