Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

During the time when I was working with one of the biggest international companies in the Middle East, they had developed a software (database)for estimates of materials, equipment with equivalent estimate of labour (manhours) and cost. This is done during the engineering/design stage where they estimate bill of materials and input it on a database. The data base is cost coded which basically can be group to form a work package. The system is very good and information is very useful during the procurement and construction stage. Imagine having all the components of a project on a database and using an inteligent cost coding system, it makes life in construction easier.

Cheers,
Daniel
