Dear All,

Recently I installed my Primavera v6.2.1 and it is successful. My next step is to install the Java Development Kit (JDK), version 1.5.x, also known as J2SE 5.0. for Primavera Integration API 6.2.1 as well as the CXF version 2.1.2 for Primavera Web Access. All of these were successful.

However, during the connection to the database, API & Web asking for the "Setup and Configuration of the Primavera Database:

1. Oracle
2. Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Express

When I choose the Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Express it is asking the folowing:

User Name: pubuser
Password: pubuser

Database Name: pmdb$primavera
Database Host Address: "Computer Name\primavera"
Database Host Port: "1433’ (Default)
Public Group Id: 1 (Default)

After that I select NEXT:

Then this is the error message:

Error: Unable to resolve privileged username and password
The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed.java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
Please verify the information you enetered.

I tried to seek assistance to our IT but he told me the error is in the primavera database connection.

Any ideas?

Thank you and Regards,

Aryan

Hi Aryan

As far as I know you need the server connection to install the API.
Do you have local admin rights?
Does P6 work with the server/database you’ll need the API?

Send me a private message with the error codes. Maybe I can help.
But I’m afraid, the main reason are access right --> your IT.

Regards

Hi Dieter,

I tried to read the Adminguide but I don’t really get the point how to install without the server connection. Can you guide me how to do it?

Thank you & Regards,

Aryan

Of course you can be connected to any database - with appropriate access rights - from your stand-alone installation.
You’ll have to know the name of the server and of the database. How to do this is descriced in the Admin Manual.

Hi Dieter,

Thank you for the info. I thought I can be connected to the database with standalone installation.

Thank you & regards,

Aryan

Hi Aryan

If this already happens during installation, most probably you have no local administrator’s right. You need it, because installation procedure writes into the registry.

There is an easy way to check if you have those rights: move your mouse onto "Start" in the lower left corner of your screen --> right button --< bottom line equal to "Explorer all Users", then you have them and there is another reason; if not, contact your IT.

Thoses SQL... are services.

Good luck!

Hi Dieter,

You are correct, it was a stand-alone installation.

My problem is I cannot connect to database during the installation.

What are all these Server?

- SQL-Server (Primavera)
- SQL-Server Browser
- SQL-Server Full Text Search
- SQL-Server VSS Writer

Is there any way how to configure the database or any additional information that you can advice?

Thank you & Regards,

Aryan

I assume it was a stand-alone installation on your pc.

Did you start the SQL-Server before - and all required services?
- SQL-Server (Primavera)
- SQL-Server Browser
- SQL-Server Full Text Search
- SQL-Server VSS Writer

Good luck1
