Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi all

I have just bought P6 and not had experience in Primavera I have had plenty of experience in MS Project. Any suggestions on books/manuals? Plus any books on Planning Engineering for the construction industry?

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew,
I whole heartedly reccomend, Paul Harris’ book. I bought a copy and it is a great aid and really easily read.

Most people who have browsed it on my desk, intend to buy one and a few actually have.

Hi Andrew,

Im also started in MS Project and switch to P3.1,P3.5e,P4.1e,P5e and now I’m using P6, in which you are looking for a book for your reference.

You can inquire to primavera representative thru internet they can help you about this matter.

You may want to have a look at my books which are available from my web site at http://www.eh.com.au/bof.html.

You may download a sample book with the table of contents and sample chapters. My books are also available from any good book seller including:

www.amazon.com
www.eastwoodharrisbooks.com
www.booksurge.com
www.bn.com
www.amazon.co.uk
www.compman.co.uk

Marchman does a book which understand has a lot of theory but I do not have a copy of this book. This may suit you better if you are looking for PM type of stuff.

The user manuals on the Primavera CDs are not too bad but there are no worked examples and do not go to the places where the software does not work which is my specialty.

If you buy a book make sure it has been updated for Version 6!
