Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Why P3 don’t have Undo button but in MS Project we can undo once and in Power Project we can undo until the last save changes?

The undo button is very useful, if we mistakenly deleted the activities or the descriptions to re-discover the particular activities.

I’m afraid Ron is right.

P3 is frozen and will not have any upgrades.

One of the reasons that P3 doesn’t have an undo button is because it is a multi-user application. What you may want to undo chould have been changed by somebody else in the meantime; invalidating your undo action.

So in order to make this (really) work you would need to build quite some rigor/logic under that undo ’button’.

For the very same reason it took a while before an undo ’button’ appeared in P3e/c/TeamPlay/IT Project Office/Project Management. (release 5, just announced)

Hope this helps.

Niek.

Incidentally, it has nothing whatsoever to do with P3 being 16 bit. Its to do with the database architecture, most people who used pre-windows software didnt have an undo feature anyway, so dont miss it.

No, P3 will never have an ’undo’ feature. Primavera has announced that have frozen all feature enhancements for the P3 product.

The other Primavera product, P3ec, P3e, Teamplay will be receiving the undo feature with their upcoming release of Version 5.

Primavera vs 5??????

Thats news, if you are referring to Primavera 3.1.
From what I understand, Primavera people do not intend to update the vrs.3. This is their classic bread and butter program, and it will not change.

please adivse if that is what you are referring to, or are you talking about P3E??

Because Real planners don’t make mistakes. They don’t need to redo/Undo their work. P3 noticed this quality in planners and made a decision that a UNDO button would not be required because it will not be USED.

Hi Sukumaran Subaramaniyan,

P3 is only a 16 bit programme, which limits its ability in it’s software construction to be able to "undo" input.
