Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

1. I am preparing a cash flow histogram for a project with P3, and would want the values to appear ontop of the bars. I cann’t get it from Resource/Cost Profile. Any help?

2. It seems P3 is unable to aggregate parallel activities within a time period. It seems to pick only the weightings of the activity that appears first on the schedule.

Would appreciate assistance from any of you P3 experts. Much thanks.

John,

I use P3 to create the real cash Flow for the project most of the time and I don’t have such problem. Could you please let me know in more detail what’s your problem? You can use Excel to just make more fancy and colorful cash flow, but still the data should be calculated in P3.
You can reach me at avessali@ellisdon.com

OK.

Easy you find the file called P3.wk1 and open it with xls.

How to find the file.

Well Open Windows Explorer.

And do a search.

After you have open the Data in xls just save it as something else in xls format.

Thanks very much, Jaco and Shahzad. But, I am very new to Exporting to Excel. I followed all the steps to P3 Look, where it sait ’Lotus file generated into p3.wk1’ and got stuck. What do I do next to get my Excel Cash Flow Histogram ? Any help ? Expecting your valuable inputs!

Yes, Cash Flow Histrogram is more compatible and adjustable in Excel and that is the reason the planners prefer this in Excel.

Hi John

I can help with the part 1

Go -Tools-Graphic Report - Resource and Cost . Select RC 3 (Any one will Do)
Select Modify
Select the Criteria etc. Remember to change the dates.

On the Content Page a Thing called Display Data Values.

Pres Run and then you should have it.

I prefer exporting the Data to xls to the cahs flow.

Cheers
