According to the P3 Knowledge Base, alias cannot be used in a layout’s organisation (see below for extract). Is there anyone else who sees this as a significant issue that should have been fixed a long time ago? If so please log onto the knowledge base and rate this ’fix’ as unacceptable and request it be fixed.

Organizing the layout by an alias in P3 3.0
Version(s): 3.0

Fact: P3 3.0

Problem: Organizing the layout by an alias in P3 3.0

Fix:
P3 3.0 does not have the ability to organize by an alias code. However, there is a new feature that allows you to display all values in one band. To do this, perform the following steps:

1. Choose Format, Organize.
2. Select the codes that you wish to organize by.
3. Choose the box labeled Display All values in one band.

What P3 propose there would have exactly the same effect.

I don’t see the need why you want to go and retype all your code descriptions. Remember The amount of descriptions you would have to type in would have to be the product of your activity code totals.

Doesn’t sound like a problem to me.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
