Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

Can any one suggest how to calculate the % efficiency in a project, based on Budgeted man hour, Actual consumed man hour, Planned man hour and progress percentage!!!

Thanks in advance.
Guna.

Hi Radhakrishnan ,

Performnce is not not normallly measured by % but by factors, such as , ,97, the simple rule is these factors are used in cost to completion calculations

Sounds like a job for Earned Value!

Earned Value = Budgeted cost x progress percentage

Schedule efficiency (or schedule performance index) = Earned Value / BCWS (budgeted cost of work scheduled)

Cost efficiency (or cost performance index) = Earned Value / ACWP (actual cost of work performed)

So using the data you list, I’d suggest:

(Budgeted man hour x progress %) / actual consumed man hour
