Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All,

i have an issue when looking at several projects, when looking at resource hours as a group and sort and grand totals, it adds up the total of each resource correctly for all projects. However when I seekt to do this to roll up hours for all resources with an activity code (for function or Budget owner code of that resource) it does not add up correctly to give the correct grand total and often there will be a '...' or blank space where I know from earlier group and sorts there is the correct resource displayed in that month.

  • Does anyone know why this may be occuring?
  • Is there likely an issue issue with the Activity code heirarchy?
  • An issue with the chosen Group and Sort configuration or Grand Totals option?

I've tried many alternative group and sort configurations (and filters on and off) and Show Grand Totals, Show Summary etc but I cannot get it to show the correct overall cumulative for multiple projects and so must export it into excel and then add each project row individually which cna be frustrating for many projects and portfolios.

Thanks again everyone!

the best way to approach this is to do each project seperately then summarize as a whole

look for any anomiloes and see what different about the ones that do not match
