Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it is possible to see cross-schedulecritical paths; e.g. if I have a project split into 3 schedules, which are linked together with inter-project dependencies, is it possible to see 1 critical path for the whole thing?

Thanks,

Ash

there are two options

option #1

filter for longest path

option #2

create a global code call it Mypath

make the code value MP for my path

add this column to the view

filter for the last activity in the schedule

look at its predecessors and look for the one that is checked DRIVING AND CRITICAL

now in the predecessor window highlight that activity and then click on GoTo

keep doing this until you get back to the data date or the start of the project.

now in the column that you just added (MYPATH) put in the code MP

now do a fill down for all of the activities that are on your screen

now filter where Mypath equals MP

now you have it

This is one of the scheduling options.

1) when you open more than one project, the scheduling options for the group are determined by the "Default project" (set under the Project main menu tab)

2) That Default project should have the "Calculate Total Float" option set for "Opened Project"

You now have a single scheduling entity, no matter how many projects are open
