Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Having been sent a MSP schedule that had the Circular Task error message, I had to spend some time trying to work out where the erroneous links were - as it turned out, as I cleared the task and saved/reopned the file, I then had another task as a circular relationship - five in all!!!

Just wondring if there is any way to create a specific report view (either Gantt or Netowrk Diagram) that shows the tasks involved in creating the circular relationship, or failing that, is there a specific field available I could show and then filter on?

TBH with MSP I suspect the answer to both is no, but as I will be handing over the production and updating of schedules to someone els in the not too distant future, it would be useful if I could show them how to create a view to help identify these issues.

I have seen articles that suggest creating text fields for copying the Predecessors and Successors into, then deleting from these fields and pasting back in to see which tasks are causinhg the issue, but this does seem a bit of a cumbersome solution!!

Many thanks.
