Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Are you suggesting that the use of deadlines gives different results each time you use them? I have found the impact of a deadline on task slack to be quite predictable.

Ahmed,

Just a word of advice. Critical path calculations, using the software, are notoriously unreliable. If you have used any date constraints or "Deadline" dates etc, all these will be calculated as part of the critical path. If your schedule is fully networked and linked, and allowed to "float" with no "deadlines", then you have a reasonble chance of getting a reliable result.

HTH.

You can insert the field called "Critical" into the gantt chart. If it is ’Yes’ then the task is critical. You can also look at the Detail Gantt view to see the Critical Tasks as Red bars on the Gantt chart.
