Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I wish to suggest the creation of a new forum on the Planning Planet - one dedicated to discussion of Schedule Risk issues, including schedule risk analysis.
There are a number of software products now in use based on the Monte Carlo method, including Primavera Monte Carlo, @Risk for Project, Open Plan and Pertmaster.
There is increasing interest in the risk aspect of project management and need for a forum where information, ideas and opinions can be exchanged.
Increasingly, schedule risk analysis is being seen as the next step in establishing and maintaining realistic project schedules and developing realistic project cost forecasts.
Questions on the significance of criticality and cruciality indexes, probabilistic links and activities, what percentage probabilities are appropriate for project completion and budget forecasts, as well as choosing the right balance between low numbers of activities for developing good duration risk distributions versus enough activities for maintaining important dependencies will be discussed.

Hi Guys,

We have created a brand new forum category for you to express your thoughts and fears of "Risk Analysis" and it’s associated issues.

The Initial Posting can be found here.

Regards.

I fully support Colin Cropley for his proposal to form a separate forum on Schedule Risk. He has listed valid reasons to form a such forum.

I hope the moderators would do the needful to begin a specific forum for discussing Schedule Risk related topics.

Regards
Daya
