Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello,

I'm currently having an issue with Asta which I'm struggling to resolve due to the lack of many other people in my company that use this software at present.  Let me try and paint as clear a picture as possible:

I have a progress report which I am recording weekly against Baseline Rev 1 in the view named "Progress".

In my view named "Bar Chart" the progress entry/bar splitting etc is showing, so I decided not to revise up to Rev 2 here as I require my newly revised baseline to be Baseline Rev 1 + Revised Dates + a few additional tasks.

I thought that the bar should remain untouched in the view named "Bar Chart" which would make life so much easier.  (I am working to project template made by the senior planner that has since departed the company).

What I have done is taken my initial programme (the result of which is Baseline Rev 1 for progress) and revised dates accordingly as well as added these additional tasks and named the result of this Baseline Rev 2.

When I import Baseline Rev 2 into my progress report, the planned dates are updated as expected BUT the new tasks are not there.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

Regards,

SM

Hi Sam,

The way i've done it is to import REV 2 baseline into REV 1 project, revert REV 1 to REV 2 baseline, this will bring any new tasks onto the programme. Then to get the REV 2 Basleine to appear under the correct tasks, i had to delete REV 2 baseline from REV 1 programme and import it again.

Hope this helps.

Hi Charlotte, it is two seperate files Rev 1 & Rev 2.

The solution I came to was just to re-do each weeks progress against the Rev 2 with the new tasks.  Probably not the best way but it did the job.

Hi Sam,

I think i may have a solution for you, however there is just one thing i need to clarify, are you currently work between 2 project files? I.e REV 1.pp and REV 2.pp?
