Initially engaged for the Turbine Supply and Installation Contracts for Medupi and Kusile Power Stations (South Africa) but eventually stationed in Belfort, France and deployed to as Utility Planner on projects and bids in Canada(Greenfield), Bulgaria(Greenfield), Saudi Arabia(Greenfield) and South Africa(Brownfield) within the following Phases:
Sales - Tender Time Schedule Development.
Execution - Client Contract Schedule (on award)
- Internal Project Integrated Control Schedules
- System Time Schedules
Key Performance Areas:
Create and manage Level 4 Project Integrated Schedule.
Provide accurete, reliable and traceable programme data on scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
Provide leadership to the team to develop planning skills to protect the EPCM obligations for total Project Controls and ensure right decisions are made using that data.
Provide FIDIC/NEC compliance on acceptance of Consultant and Contractor programmes.
Provide ’What-If Scenarios’ to meet the project objectives in a time and cost-effective manner.
Provide S-Curves and Histograms.
Carry out Risk Analysis to agreed/prescribed percentiles using Pertmaster.
Ensure the programme is able to give timely budget, cost, FFC, cash-flow and resource projections and actuals for the Project Managers and Project Director to make decisions.
Undertake Delay Analysis and ensure the project is compliant to demonstrate compliance to the contract for forensic auditing.
Reporting in a timely manner with Earned Value Analysis to Level 4 activities with variance commentry and mitigation actions at Level 1 by planning package.
Provide daily service to all stakeholders and hold regular workshops to ensure adherence and acceptance of the programme.
Ensure all delivery streams provide accurate, reliable and traceable data to meet company reporting obligations with Project Manager signatures on hard copies that are scanned for audit trail.
Ensure the Project Coding Structure is complied with by the project as a whole.
Liase with other project controls departments to ensure information is shared and managed in tandem.
Provide Change Control Impact Assessments and optioneering to Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
Ensure updates are delivered in a timely manner.
Ensure at all times the EPCM Consultant is safe guarded contractually.
Update the WBS in line with scope changes.
Create ’Look-Ahead’ programmes on a weekly and monthly basis.
Recovery Planning.
Maintain ’Key Event’ Schedules.
Provide constant analysis on delays and scenarios for mitigation and ensure Early Warnings and Compensation Events are triggered in a timely manner.
Capture Trends.
Report to Project Controls Managers and their Deputies.
Motivate the team and ensure compliance to the project planning procedure and flow process.
