Blinding Concrete

Placing blinding direct from ready mix truck, rate of 4-5 m2/hr or 0.2-0.3 m3/hr.

Base / Floor Slabs

Concourse slab concrete pour, 36 m x 18 m, concrete volume of 1,500 m3 and 290 tonnes of reinforcement. Blind 1 day, formwork 2 days, reinforcement 5 days and concrete on day 8. Adit base slabs, concrete volume of 140 m3. Steelfixing for 4 days and concrete on the 5th day.

Tunnel Sections

Simple cooling watermain tunnels, a typical cycle time of 5 days per 8 m sections, or a rate of 0.16 m/hr.

Track Slab

Track slab concrete pour, 36 m x 28 m, concrete volume of 1,050 m3 and 360 tonnes of reinforcement. Excavate 6 m from one edge 7 days, strut 9 days, final excavation 3 days, pile chipping 5 days, blind 4 days, reinforcement 5 days and concrete on day 32. On simple pours, with little formwork, 24 m x 28 m, concrete volume of 1,200 m3 and 220 tonnes of reinforcement. Blind 3 days, reinforcement 3 days and concrete on day 8.

Wall Slabs

Adit wall construction, concrete volume of 80 m3. Steelfixing for 3 days and concrete on 4th day.

Roof Slabs

Adit roof slab construction, concrete volume of 80 m3. Steelfixing for 4 - 5 days and concrete on the 6th day.

Staircases

Standard staircase, concrete volume of 60 - 80 m3. Steelfixing for 4 days, formwork for 3 days and concrete on the 7 th day. Simple staircase from track slab up to platform edge, a rise of 1.2 m, a typical cycle time of 3 days per flight.
