Tunnel Sections Simple cooling watermain tunnels, a typical cycle time of 5 days per 8 m sections, or a rate of 0.16 m/hr. Track Slab Track slab concrete pour, 36 m x 28 m, concrete volume of 1,050 m3 and 360 tonnes of reinforcement. Excavate 6 m from one edge 7 days, strut 9 days, final excavation 3 days, pile chipping 5 days, blind 4 days, reinforcement 5 days and concrete on day 32. On simple pours, with little formwork, 24 m x 28 m, concrete volume of 1,200 m3 and 220 tonnes of reinforcement. Blind 3 days, reinforcement 3 days and concrete on day 8.
