Aromatics Oman project (merged with Orpic in 2010) located at Sohar Industrial Port, Oman & is one of the most prestigious project of Oman government for producing 1.0 MMTPA of Para-Xylene & Benzene with a project budget of 1.2 blnUS$  . The procurement manager main mandate was to establish the department, develop process systems and procedures, recruit the staff and procure 2-year spare parts.

Position Dimensions:

●     300 million US$ (Gross) for chemicals, spare parts and warehouses

●     Interfaces: Contractors, sub-contractors, licensers, various government ministries, internal departments of the company and internal tender board.

Key Accountabilities:

●     Development of procurement department

●     Establishing business process and staff recruitment

●     Develop the Company “ Manual of Authority”

●     Manage the Internal Tender Board

●     Procure the 2-year spare parts

Accomplishments

●     Established most of the department procedures and processes

●      Finalise the procurement of 2-years spare parts on-time

●     Award most of the contract on time and as per budget

Contributed to cost savings initiatives worth multi-millions dollars.
