Nueva Fuerabamba Project consist is the construction of 441 houses and 15 Non-Residential buildings for the Community of Fuerabamba in Peru. The community is living on and the surroundings areas of the mine of Las Bambas Project.

I was hired as a Cost Engineer Seconded to the client Xstrata/Glencore to supervise the mayor contractor Graña y Montero (GyM), but shortly took the role of Lead Cost Manager.

My mayor job duties were essentially the following:

-  At the beginning of the project, helped the contractor prepare and apply the code of accounts.

-  Set up a Trend Program to track changes.

-  Designed along the Project Controls Manager, the Quantity Unit Rate Report and the Cost-Commitment for control.

-  Preparer detailed staffing plans, for planning and costs purposes.

-  Monitor / Control / Maintain budgets and estimates.

-  Preparation of reports and control of contractor`s Cost Report.

-  Interface with Bechtel regarding the Financial Reporting and employees issues.

-  Conduct personnel performance reviews, as I have in time 5 employees under my supervision (2 planners and 3 cost employees).

-  Performed productivity analysis of Construction operations and verifies results.

-  Control Contractors invoicing and advance fund requests, as it’s a cost reimbursable contract.-  Preparation of different reports for Management.

Significant Achievement: Supervise 5 employees some of whom have more experience than me. Set up the Trend Program. For 6 months, I was named Deputy Project Control Manager.
