As the engineering, construction & project manager for the Caval Ridge project, Bechtel developed a new coal mine for BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA). Situated in the northern part of the Bowen Basin, southeast of Moranbah, the mine site has been identified as a quality hard coking coal resource to support BMA’s growth plans.

Contributions to Caval Ridge Project

• My contribution to the project success is in Planning, Scheduling & controlling during Early Works & Execution stage of the project.
• Developed & Improved Project Master Plan. Finalize Budget & Baseline.
• Supported project management, engineering & construction functions with project delivery objectives.
• Project resource & commodity curves, critical path analysis, man-power histograms & productivity/production reviews for Management decision making.
• Monitor progress, measure performance, evaluate productivity & report on schedule deviations.
• Review & endorse progress reported by the contractors
• Assisted Project Management in developing/reviewing schedule corrective action & recovery plans, & its implementation.
• Raising flags, taking recovery actions & follow up when adverse schedule trends were identified.
