March, 2013 JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES AS ESTIMATOR
• Reviews bid documents and prepares queries regarding technical matters.
• Verify completeness of tender documents, corresponds through IFPs and make sure complete information is available to prepare a tender response.
• Attends pre-bid meetings on technical and commercial matters.
• Coordinates with the document controller group for the distribution of any documents from the client during the tender period.
• Conducts site visits/surveys.
• Prepares basic engineering design if needed as the basis of tender proposal.
• Performs material take-off and prepares Bill of Materials including Consumables & Material substitution.
• Prepares rebar cutting and bending schedule during estimation period.
• Source-out material suppliers and subcontractors both local and foreign during bidding stage.
• Familiarizes and studies the scope of work.
• Consolidates material take-off for material costing.
• Ensures the accuracy of the formulas and links to the BOQ's and summaries.
• Calculates labor manhour and equipment hour.
• Prepares equipment line-up, tools and fuel consumption req’t.
• Prepares computerized spread sheeting.
• Coordinates with other departments to gather the necessary data in the preparation of estimate.
• Prepares costing summary & project cost analysis of different suppliers/sub-con for price optimization.
• Prepares bid breakdown in accordance with client’s requirements.
• Prepares construction methodology and related eng’g technical proposal requirements (construction, manpower and equipment schedules; table of organization; tempfacil layout; utility consumption list, etc.)
• Performs value engineering.
• Coordinates with marketing on the preparation of documents for Project De-Briefing.
• Attends project de-briefing and presentation.
• Furnishes copy of BM, lists of suppliers and subcontractors for awarded projects to PCD & Purchasing.
• Prepares & confirms QS implementation checklist prepared by Marketing.
• Review & updates existing engineering design data, costing parameters and drafting standards when necessary.
• Trains and develops subordinates.
• Implements quality & safety policies.
• Reviews and evaluates bid drawings against AFC.
• Initiates the release of AFC drawing and technical specifications to DCS.
• Initiates the preparation of documents for CADD works.
• Prepares technical specification for engineering services & turn key projects.
• Participates in QA vendor survey as one of the evaluators.
• Attends site coordination meeting.
• Prepare Supplier and Subcontractor Packages using Primavera Construction Management (PCM).
