Project Control / Project Services Manager, Cameron Ltd, Process Systems Portfolio

START Date:
March, 2014
END Date:
January, 2016

·Schedule development and control for proposals and projects, risk analysis based on uncertainty (P90), three point estimates and portfolio/project schedule integrity checks. Schedule reporting (dates, durations, and progress and execution metrics).

·Supervising the document processing functions, master document list updates and document processing metrics generation and presentations every month (document processing times, rework, and quality index, on time delivery).

·Analyzing portfolio resource allocations (Engineering, Project Management and Manufacturing) for optimizing projects execution and on time delivery while minimizing risks.

·Coordinating the planning efforts between the recently created planning department in India and the planning department in Houston on schedule development and controls.

·Coordinating contractors schedule updates and their incorporation into the project master schedules. This includes validating the quality of the information (schedule integrity, logic, progress reported) and the integration of sub contracted packages into the master work breakdown structure.

·Interfacing with Global Planning, Risk Management, Document Control and Project Management on development                 and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and best practices for optimizing and improving project                     controls and execution. Generally these are based on recommended practices from AACE and the multiple practice               standards from PMI, the US Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Contract Management Association.

·Developing a Stage Gate deliverables tracking system based on information within the project schedules. This system provides an automatic status update on deliverables readiness to pass gate reviews ensuring projects compliance to regulations and minimizing risks.

·Development and deployment of the schedule execution metrics (portfolio), which consists of 5 schedule based indicators for assessing project health and performance on a monthly basis on multiple schedules. These are based on industry best practices and include Baseline Execution Index (BEI), Critical Path Length Index (CPLI), Current Execution Index (CEI), Total Float Consumption Index (TFCI) and % of critical activities.

·Development of multiple schedule integrity checks for assuring schedule accuracy and compliance to best practices and industry standards. These are a consolidated source of information from the P6 schedule log, Pert Master schedule check reports and industry best practices and standards from PMI and AACE.

·Development and deployment of a schedule development/control log for capturing all major assumptions during the baseline development and updating cycle, providing a consolidated source of information for team members to review schedule modifications and risk factors.

·Development and deployment of integrated planning dashboards including project status based on schedule execution metrics and project teams input on a monthly basis.

·Standardizing client monthly reports with planning and cost information to provide a consolidated and concise view of the project status and ongoing action plans.

·Standardizing the scheduling WBS and development/maintenance of a standard schedule development template consistent with projects execution.

·Development and deployment of a standard set of rules of credit and a progress measurement system based on information within the project a schedule, which generates progress curves by package and discipline for a detailed analysis.

·Development of statistical models (multivariable analysis) based on time/cost data (SAP) to estimate the man hour effort required for executing work on proposals.

·Consolidating and analyzing scheduling data for predicting future work based on historical project execution (Time Performance Ratio or “TPR”, which is calculated as actual vs original durations for Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication work packages).
