Construction of 5Km of 4.4m diameter running tunnels using 5.03m diameter Kawasaki EPBM tunnel boring machines, also enlargement of the 4.4m concrete tunnel to 7.5m SG iron to facilitate the construction of running platforms. Operation carried out using compressed air water suppression, with hand mining and erecting techniques employed.
