Lerwick Main Drainage

Installation of a new foul drainage system through Lerwick, Shetland, including the construction of two large pumping stations. Pipe diameters 450-900mm depth 2.5-6m.Senior staff member on site reporting to a visiting Agent based in Glasgow. Value £4M.

Nov 1995- Jan 97          Aoki Corporation, Jubilee Line Contract 105, London Bridge to Canada Water – Section Engineer

Construction of 5Km of 4.4m diameter running tunnels using 5.03m diameter Kawasaki EPBM tunnel boring machines, also enlargement of the 4.4m concrete tunnel to 7.5m SG iron to facilitate the construction of running platforms. Operation carried out using compressed air water suppression, with hand mining and erecting techniques employed.
