JUNIOR PLANNER, Bouygues Batiment International – TURKMENISTAN, Congress Hall in Ashgabad

START Date:
October, 2011

I'm currently working for the Bouygues Batiment International planning division, located in Turkmenistan. We realise public constructions such as ministers and universities but also private construction such as Presidential Palaces or Five-Stars Hostels.

I started on october 2011. I participated to the construction of two ministries (Justice and Customs - 70M€ each), then I was part of a major renovation project. We had to deal with really short end-dates (6 months to renovated a palace included a conference room of 2,000 places - 70M€). Noble materials were used : marble, wood walls, plastery ceilings... Planning (mostly procurement) was THE key for success and we made it.

I now work on a Congress Hall construction (445,5 M€). Another Presidential Construction we have to deliver in 18 months.

My duties are simple :

- Create the entire program of each construction sites we do and for all the different phases (Studies, Procurement, Construction and Tests and comissionning) and for each Works (Architecturals, Mechanical & Plumbing, Electrical, Concrete...)

- Put in place alarms based on the critical path and previous experiences. (Procurement is a great deal in Turkmenistan because we have to import almost everything)

- Keep a global vision of the project and anticipate any problems we might have concerning everything on the project (VISAs for external intervenants, coordinations between the different Works, methodolgy of construction)

I work for the project director. I advise him and deliver reports on the advancement of the project. I make simulations in order to help him to take decision on the construction strategy (on a planning point of vew).
